On our way travelling up through France to England, Vikki arranged for a nice half-way overnight stay at hotel La Gentilhommière in a village called Nuits-Saint-Georges in Burgundy which is an area very famous for its vineyards and red wine.
Our journey plan from the motorway in Nice via Nuits-Saints-Georges to the village areas of Haslemere in England.
When we arrived at the hotel, I loved the ‘Colonial’ room that we were staying in!
There was a nice big bed (well…for a few minutes until my doggie bed was brought in from the car )
I had my own balcony overlooking a river stream where I could watch the ducks and fishies swim by
Better stilll, across the stream there were large enclosed fields that belonged to the doggie-loving hotel owners, so I could have a nice open run about and explore
It was super convenient to have the car parked directly outside our room…
…very handy for my human to bring in my food and drink for the evening!
…and my ‘Princess Zola hotel bag’ in the morning!
BUT…the best part of our stay was that I had a super surprise
. Guess who turned up for dinner? None other than my pal George the Bearded Collie with his humans who were on their way to England for a holiday in the Yorkshire Dales.
We were very happy to see each other and all enjoyed a lovely dinner together.
Dinner time!
OOOOooooo there were some yummy smells floating around from the kitchen ..
Yum yum..we smell steaks!!!…or should I say ‘filets de boeuf’!…
There are lots of wine cellars in the village known as ‘Caves’ for visitors to learn about wine as well as sample and buy some local wine like at Le Domaine de La Poulette.
It was super to see George and his humans. We can’t wait to visit them for a few long walks in the Yorkshire Dales in August.
That’s it. I’m officially jealous of all dog owners (and dogs) in Europe.
The hotel is beautiful (as are the humans and dogs. 🙂 Hope your trip’s going well.
