Well..many many thanks to superstar Honey the Great Dane for my Stylish Blogger Award! I’d also like to thank my dog-blog stars for their great words & encouragement, my doggie friends behind the scenes who support me and not forgetting my human who helped make this possible….
Heehee! (Sorry, I watched a bit of the Oscars this week!)
Ok..now to follow the Stylish Blogger protocol!
7 things about me:
1 – I love my Magic Corner Thinking Step ♥ Ever since I can remember, the one magic extra wide step on the turn is my ‘paws for thought step’! On the way down (not up), I park my rear on the wide step and my front paws on the step below and stay there a while.
For example; when I wake Vikki up to encourage her to go downstairs and play, I will wait on my magic step and keep watch until she passes me by.
I always wait until she is really downstairs since sometimes she forgets something and turns round to go back up! Once she is in the kitchen making a cup of tea..I’m down from my step ready for morning action! I taught myself that one!
2 – ..Kong kong kong…I’m not one for that many toys…But I am very partial to bouncing the kong around and watching all the yummies fly out. I have a small quickie kong (pink) from a pup , a medium one (black) that is the regular flyer and a special XXL super-size noisy bouncer (red) that keeps me going for ages.
3 – Homemade natural treats. My human loves making healthy natural treats to put in the oven machine 🙂 oh the room smells so good. Treats for our learning time…yum yum…my favourite is the turkey-brown rice-carrot-parsley balls…I go mad for them.
4 – Night walks in Monaco. All year round but especially in the summer when it gets very hot and when my human doesn’t always want to get up super early before the sun turns on full heat, we will go on a night walk in Monaco. Monaco is a favourite lead walk of ours for a number of reasons; there’s zero crime and at night everything is lit up (there are lots of friendly policemen around who now know and wave at us); there is so much to see, hear and smell for both me and my human; there is a lot of variety from town centre to port and yachts..in fact I could go on and on…so I think I’ll show you soon in future posts…
5 – Welcome back hello moves. I have developed my own welcome back greeting….chew stick, pigs ear or even empty kong in mouth ready for welcome with additional full body wiggle-waggle salsa and walking in between my human’s legs back and forth a number of times…ooohhh happiness..
6 – My chaise longue! How I love my night sleep on my comfy, soft snuggly chaise long! Many Ridgebacks, given the chance, like to sleep high, elevated off the floor..its just our thing…I’m extreme. The higher the better – preferably bed/ sofa height. Vikki came across it in a sale since it didn’t fit on the sofa unit it was supposed to go with and noone wanted it! Lucky me!
7 – I’m not fond of..CATS!…There!…. I said it!
Vikki does like them and has known and loved one cat herself for a long time, but unfortunately she did not have the opportunity to introduce me to cats at an early age..we just did not have one around that was friendly enough. Unlike my Mama Shona who lets the cat sleep on her (I must have met that cat as a little puppy though?!), I react to them as if they are rotten eggs….pooh! I just stand staring at them (asking myself if I should chase them or are they poisonous?) whilst they raise their heckles, spit and do that back thing :(. They make the hair on my bottom and back of my neck start to go the same backwards direction as my ridge, so it looks like I have one gigantic mohawk on my back (not a good look!). If I come across their pee-mail, its like sniffing a dose of pepper corns….eeekk! Horrid! Grrrrr… Sorry kitties – your blackmagic witchcraft charm for world domination doesn’t work on me!
Tah Dah! – Thank you again and it was fun to share 7 things about me.
Now I must pass this award on to five of the many fabulicious dogblog stars that I love to visit….so this time:
- My fellow Dutch Ridgeback called Beaudor who has a super stylish blog. He is soooooo handsome! I will meet him when he comes to France someday soon and my heart will race I just know it!
- The super stylish long distance but close in humour Australian blogpals Digby and Delta…although they share the same blog they are both stars in their own right and do write seperate posts sometimes! (so that counts as 2)
- Sheltie Oreo in America, who is a dream (very funny in the snow) and learning those tricks so fast with his human Sara (thanks for your kind comments).
- Remi the Ridgeback (I’m not biased or anything!). A stylish adventurer who enjoys camping and fun outdoor activities. What a guy! He lives across the pond in Washington, USA.
So I look forward to reading your ‘7 things about me’ post and if you like you can save the picture above to put in your side bar and also award it to 5 of your blog friends…..have fun!
You are stylish indeed! How fun to learn more about you 🙂
I’ve done Oreo’s list of 7 things before, but I’ll try and come up with 7 new ones.
I enjoyed reading your list of things. Very brave of you to admit to your cat thing, they might know with their super brainwaves!

Hi Zola, you do have a nice life. I think stairs are scary. cool of you. But in recent French vacation, my human helpt me with my fear and Now I dare climb stairs too! I also love my Kong, especially with goodies in it.
I just like toys when I can steel them away from other dogs and cats …. Grrrrrrrrrr
This summer we would go south but that the plans have changed … I get a little sister!
