Rhodesian Ridgeback Girls Play

Rhodesian Ridgeback Girls Play

It is always very nice to have some ‘girl time’ with my  wild Ridgeback girlfriend Lily.

Ready for action:

Lily is a Rhodesian Ridgeback girl who lives with my Papa Sion and my Aunty Kiny:
When our humans meet up that means play time for us – oooohhh its so much fun..

Us Ridgeback girls have funny play tactics together;  jump pirouettes, fast directional changes,  ‘chase me’ blasts, circling, necking (which looks like we are trying to undo each others collars!), racing and more…

Head to head:

Unlike other breeds, it is well known that the Rhodesian Ridgeback dog instinctively discriminates their own breed from other doggie friends around.

Eileen Bailey in her book ‘The Rhodesian Ridgeback’ mentions that given a choice the Ridgeback “prefers to associate with the other Ridgebacks rather than a dog of another breed”.

No holds barred for getting down and dirty..do you like my Zebra collar? 🙂

Here’s a little video of how us Ridgeback girls like to play in a field:

(Lily’s humans took some more photos of us playing – click here)

We can walk miles, with toys, other dogs encounter, bicycles, chasing rabbits, but a date with another rr….Nothing can not beat that! The way they play. It’s like they dance! And they do not damage each other . When Joep plays with his great love Jua (Sister of Beaudor http://www.bhanu.nl/frameset.html) he sleeps the rest of the day. Next year we are planning another rr. Can’t wait. Love your blog!
    Big kiss from Joep
