Willy Wonka’s for Dogs

I love my fresh food diet..

Sometimes Vikki gives me the freshest vacuum packed’ dry food’ equivalent called Orijen, which has won lots of doggie michelin star  cuisine awards.  From France, the  best way to get your paws on it is through www.zooplus.fr .  However, although I eat it, its still not the same as fresh fresh fresh..

Vikki reads lots about the Barf Diet and the raw meaty bones dietI love my meaty raw bones too…mmmm…lambs neck is one of my favourites although veal is a close second…I’ve enjoyed chewing away on bones since a baby-pup.  Once it’s my ‘bone-time’, I’m too busy for distractions…I don’t believe there is anything better to chew in life!

There are many benefits to chew away on a bone:

  • It helps keep our teeth in good condition and reduces plaque
  • It fulfils our natural need to chew and stimulates our senses
  • Its a natural behaviour and  promotes our well-being

chewing bones keeps healthy white teeth

Our local butchers are friendly French humans who think I’m a good girl and save me off-cuts and goodies for collection.  When we were visiting family in England,  it was more difficult to find a nice butcher.  In fact, most were not allowed to give me any any bones due to strict health & safety regulations..I think our local family run butcher in the French village is more relaxed about this.

One place we did find in England which saved the day was ‘Natural Instinct’…they deliver too but Vikki thought it would be a good idea to visit them.  We had a very nice time and learnt lots about their recipes.  Its like a Willy Wonka’s for dogs!

Vikki thought when she got back home to France, she would like to buy a big meat grinder to put in the garage where she could make up some of their recipes for me, but then the garage could start looking like Sweeney Todd’s cellar!

throw me bone!
